ENERGY EXPO BRINGS IN DONATIONS FOR FOOD PANTRY

Waupun Utilities hosts an annual event during early October each year, as part of a nationwide celebration of Public Power Week. Customers are offered an array of energy and water saving products, along with energy tips and information.

This year a collection of paper/toiletry items for Waupun's Food Pantry offered customers an entry slip for the prize drawing, and an additional $10 in energy products. The successful collection of paper products and toiletries will help the Food Pantry with many of the items they offer to eligible households.

Each household was eligible for a $30 or $40 conservation kit of their choice. Products available included: oscillating fans, programmable thermostats, Smart Strip power strips, cfl bulbs, desk lamps, night lights and more.

Recipients of this year’s energy related prizes were: Don Dykstra, Energy Star Appliance Voucher; Fred Zurbuchen, battery powered lawn mower; and Julie Schulz, torchiere lamp. In addition, Tricia Stelsel and Kelly Kasten each received a voucher for a 1 ¼” caliper tree.
