Energy Savings Promoted at Energy Expo

Public Power Week gives our community an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of locally owned utilities.

Waupun's electric utility operates to benefit the entire community by providing safe, reliable power and high-quality customer service, all at low rates. Waupun Utilities hosts an annual event to celebrate Public Power Week.

Residential customers were able to select energy-related products at the Energy Expo held from 4 - 8 p.m., on Thursday, October 14. Each household could choose a kit with $25 worth of products FREE. Some of the items available included:

  • compact fluorescent table lamps
  • ceiling fans
  • water heater wraps
  • floor and desk fans
  • various compact fluorescent light bulbs
  • emergency lights
  • and more!
Funding for this event is made possible by the Public Benefits Program which is required by state law. Waupun Utilities, being a community-owned utility, was able to obtain permission from the State to return these funds to local customers through a variety of conservation incentives. "Build your own Conservation Kit" is one of them.
