Water Treatment Plant Construction Begins
The new facility will be constructed at 220 N. Forest Street, where the current facility will remain in operation until fall of 2007. A storage garage on the corner of Forest and Taylor Streets was razed for construction of the prospective facility.
Following the bid opening late October, low bidder Miron Construction was awarded the construction contract at the November 2006 Commission Meeting.
Groundbreaking will take place Spring of 2007, with a scheduled in service date of November 2007. The new reverse osmosis water treatment facility will cost approximately $7,500,000. This facility will be world-class, as it represents one of the first municipal reverse osmosis systems in the United States.
